I like to write down quotes or sayings that I find meaningful or interesting. I discovered that my friends do the same thing, so I decided to illustrate them. I asked my friends to submit a screenshot of something they had written in their notes app. These illustrations share an intimate and vulnerable feeling that is now universal. Plays Well with Others Exhibition (2020)
Similar to my undergrad art show, I asked friends, family, and social media followers to anonymously tell me “What’s the strangest thing they played as a child.” I used the answers as prompts to illustrated these experiences, reconnecting us with our childhood’s innocence and capacity to envision a world beyond the status quo. I believe that these imaginary games make us who we are today, and can shape our personality. This piece reminded viewers of the imperative basic human right to dream freely toward the future, and we all have more in common than what we think.
Fort Myers 2022 Biennial Grant Recipient Show
I am honored to be one of the artists featured in the Fort Myers 2022 Biennial Grant Recipient Show! These prints highlight life in the East Village in #nyc ◡̈ I flew back to FL to see the show in person! Thank you @jesstoddstudio for being an amazing curator and helping me with the install. 🤍
Well Kept Undergrad Exhibition (2019)
I created a safe space for people to submit their deepest secrets anonymously. I took a non-judgmental approach and found humor, empathy, and humanity in them. I created illustrations and projected everyday objects over the prints. By doing so I blurred the line between illusory and reality, creating more depth that what there is to see. I believe these secrets are experiences that help us remember that we are not perfect, and by learning about them they help us realize that we all have more in common than what we think.
